Welcome to Soulitics: The Journey from Head to Heart

The idea for this site started several months ago as election politics were boiling over along with tempers, patience, and in some cases decency. I started to think about alternatives to the political division that has permeated our society. My intitial idea was to explore the idea of holitics as a play on the word politics that attempts to eliminate the division of poles by turning them into wholes.

I’ve done some work with Polarity Mapping in the past and really take heart in the idea of a “both/and” outlook in managing the dynamics of difference. In polarity mapping, one takes opposite issues and maps out the positives and negatives aspects of each. As the mapping concludes, the objective turns to managing the differences by acknowledging that neither side wants the negatives and both sides have something to gain from the positives.

Is it possible to look for the whole of what is good? To listen to the perspectives of others with a mind to understand the benefits of their thinking?

Soulitics is the next iteration of my thinking on this topic. As we look for wholes in the world it becomes more and more important to acknowledges the wholes in our own beings. A part of our challenges as humans is to remember that we are more than our material selves tell us.

This world has many material anchors that weigh on our perceptions and keep us from the the freedoms of the soul. We worry about the virus, the mortgage, the job, the technology, the news, the food, the travel, the things. Soulitics is intended to remind us of that longest journey from the head to the heart.

Soulitics is a reminder that if it doesn’t serve the soul– it doesn’t serve the whole.

My hope in this project is to create a space for contributors to share the many paths, learnings and experiences that amplify the soul. To highlight the ups and downs, and hopes of life and to help us remember to value ourselves and others as we walk this earth.

Please consider bringing your voice (and your soul) to these pages.

What lessons and stories might be shared here that can impact the lives of others? How can we amplify the good in all of us?

You never know, the story you share, just might save someone’s life.
