Humility: Our Brilliance Comes from the Light of Others

I’m just another being on this Earth.

So, I’m thinking about this blog and all of things I’d like to put out there and share. And as I think, it occurs to me that I really don’t know much of anything. Furthermore, I ask myself, “who do you think you are to be publishing words about the soul?”

The wonders of this world are often beyond description. This morning I gazed at the sun shining through some trees and could see thousands of rays breaking through. Each was singular and painted with a spectrum of color. Each was congruent with the others. Each on its own might be invisible. Each in concert with others is rarely distinguishable as an entity of itself. Each is generated from the same source. Each will disappear as the day progresses.

In order to be a part of something bigger than yourself, you first must embrace that you are very small.

Soulitics was started as a vehicle to share ideas and learning and amazing connections and the excitement of life. My challenge is that learning gets me excited and sometimes I confuse the excitement of learning with an arrogance about who I might be. Sometimes, I persuade myself to believe that I am the source of ideas when I am merely a receptor. The humility I seek allows me to connect with something greater than myself. Humility becomes a gateway to gratitude as one learns that orienting oneself to a Higher Power is more valuable than developing the power of the self.

The words and ideas shared on these pages are only as valuable as the ideas and learning that are generated in those who experience them. I’m just another being on this earth and I don’t have the answers. Still, the answers come. Still the effervescence of truth tickles perception.

In order to be a part of something bigger than yourself, you first must embrace that you are very small.

The brilliance of light on the water does not come from the water. It comes from the sun.  And in the same respect, our brilliance comes from the light of something other than ourselves.

Shine on!
